In 2021, Glenys recorded 40 conversations with people across Suffolk in a story relay, where each person nominated the next. Around Suffolk in 40 Stories is a personal portrayal of the county, with the people of Suffolk, telling the story of Suffolk.

Around Suffolk in 40 Stories is an audio project by Suffolk Libraries, led by and in collaboration with award-winning storyteller Glenys Newton and in partnership with BBC Radio Suffolk.

“I am passionate about people's stories and I believe that everyone has a story to tell and everyone should have a chance to tell it. If you don't tell your story then someone else will tell it for you and they usually get it wrong!

“Being a part of the Around Suffolk In 40 Stories project has thoroughly restored my faith in the human race when my faith had all but run out, so I will be forever grateful for that.

“I am so happy to have been a part of this particular story revolution.”
